Introduction

H&M is a Swedish Multinational retail clothing company, known for fast-fashion clothing for men and children. " H&M is in 57 countries with over 3500 stores and more than 132,000 employees.  H&M is ranked the second largest global retailer, just behind Spain based Inditex( parent company of Zara).  In this blog, instead of focusing on the sale aspect of H&M we discuss the sustainability part of it. Most of the information provided here are taken from the "H&M Conscious Actions Sustainability Report 2014".

According to Moltan-Hill (2014) , it is essential that businesses look towards a new horizon of a triple bottom line, which involves not only economic prosperity and environmental quality but also social justice. Our research questions are :
Why did the organization choose to make sustainability a key strategic vision?
How did they go about implementing the sustainability vision?
What are the results obtained on each of the three bottom lines – profits, people, and planet?

How well are they reporting on these results? How are other organizations reporting on their efforts (media, community groups, and governments, NGOs?
